Above are more images of prints I have been developing for my portfolio. These designs were inspired by some flowers our lovely next door neighbours left with us to look after, and Mid-Century Modern textile design.

More Floral!

I have been busy working on lots of new bits and bobs for my portfolio, including some graphic florals & co-ordinating prints using a more limited range of colours.

Tigerprint are running a 'design a print' competition where the aim of brief is to create a print design which could be used across a variety of printed products, e.g. gift bags, wrapping paper, stationery and greetings cards, so I decided to use the brief as a starting point to develop some floral prints which I could then use as entries to the competition.

I was initially inspired by the shapes and colours of the beautiful flowers in my back garden. I wanted this group of prints to take a different visual direction to my usual graphic style, however wanted to keep a bold, bright and fun overall feel.

Woodland Animals

Conversational prints are a huge trend within surface design at the moment so I decided for my next group of prints, I would go down this route and create some animal designs. As the flower and heart motifs kept cropping up throughout the group I also produced some simple ditsy repeats to complement the range.

I have finally managed to get myself a blog..I have been busy developing my portfolio as I haven't done much work since I graduated from uni, and it was looking like it needed some attention. I have loved every minute so far, and to boot have managed to teach myself lots of new things in illustrator which is always a bonus.

I absolutely LOVE how decorative paisley motifs are so I decided that would be an appropriate place to start with this group of prints.
